Ms. Thomas, teacher librarian

Picture
My name is Jennifer Thomas and I am the teacher librarian at Alta Loma High School.  I grew up in Ontario and Claremont, studied and worked in Los Angeles, and I am thrilled now to be working with the students and staff at ALHS.

I graduated from UCLA with a B.S. in Marine Biology and a Master of Education (M.Ed.).  I completed my Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) at San Jose State University.  I was a middle school and high school science teacher in LAUSD and CJUHSD for 10 years before becoming the teacher librarian at ALHS in 2014.

I am passionate about the importance of school libraries and the unique and important role of the teacher librarian.  I thoroughly enjoy collaborating with faculty to teach research skills, information literacy, digital citizenship and the latest technology tools.  And, of course, I hope to impart my love of reading on the students of ALHS.

Feel free to contact me at jennifer.thomas@cjuhsd.net
